The names of those in this account except for Paranormal Ohio personnel have been changed to protect their identity: “I think I’ve got spooks.” These were the words of the 73 year old woman who called reporting that it was “raining” in the duplex apartment that she shared with her grandson and her eighty year old husband that was suffering from the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s disease. She had called not only to report the “rain” but also that glass objects were being shattered throughout the house as well as furniture being thrown from its place. Approximately one month prior to the phone call, Mrs. Severns reported that the rain had started in the small duplex that the Severns’ shared with another family on the other side of the dwellings divide. Apparently the other family knew nothing of the ghostly rampage going on opposite them. Upon further interview, it was discovered that not only was it raining, but television sets and lamps were being thrown from the tops of dressers and end tables. Also, the glass globes and the light bulbs they enclosed were being shattered both day and night by something unseen. The landlord had seen the rain and described it as looking something like a trail of Vaseline on the ceiling that would suddenly pop directionally, like a water balloon, only with force. He had seen it trail across the ceiling making a beeline toward Mr. Severns, who was a frequent target of the attacks. In an attempt to stop the rain, Al Sims, the landlord, had drilled holes in the ceiling in numerous places to allow any condensation through. He had also had a local contractor in to examine the attic space to check for any condensation. But, the attic was found to be structurally sound and dry. No normal or scientific reason could be found for the perplexing rain which at times seemed to seek out its targets. Whatever was causing this mess seemed to be unnatural and was ruining clothes, furniture, carpets and electrical appliances with all of the dampness. Something beyond the normal had to be done. A local minster that is now retired but well versed in the deliverance ministry was called on the case. He deferred to another pastor who in turn called Randy for assistance. A date of April 24, 2009 was then set for an investigation of the phenomenon and a potential initial blessing by both Pastor Joe and Randy. The eve prior to Pastor Joe and Randy’s visit was not a pleasant one for the Severns, to say the very least. It was a night of terror. The rain escalated to becoming a shower of scalding hot water, particularly over Mr. Severns. Mrs. Severns reported that the rain followed him out into the empty garage where it turned scalding hot, giving him second degree burns over his face and neck. The harder Mr. Severns swore at the rain, the more rain came down on him. Then, as Mrs. Severns got him to return to the bedroom, the clothes rack was torn from the closet by unseen hands and went flying out at them, dumping clothes all over the bed. As the rain continued they tried to take refuge in the bathroom but to no avail. The real horror was just beginning. As they closed the door to the bathroom something began attempting to crash through the door behind them. The couple huddled next to the bathtub in shock as something on the other side began bashing away at the door until it finally fell off of its hinges and hit them both; giving Mrs. Smith a severely blackened eye by the force of the blow. And standing in the now empty doorway was…nothing. The door, including the handle, was severely mashed in on the outside. One could see slotted blows, some say as if by horns, and a larger dented in area below. Law enforcement was called in order to file a damage report and also to provide assistance with the Severns’ injuries. Mrs. Severns was treated at the scene while Mr. Severns was transported to the local hospital for the treatment of the burns that he received from the mysterious scalding rain.

| The photos above exhibit the damage done by
the poltergeist as well as the measures taken by the Severns to stem
the damage to their belongings. In the first photo above left, one
can see that the inner pane of the glass sliding door was broken out
but the outer one was left untouched. You can also see the humidity
in the duplex dripping off of the glass from all of the water dumped
from the attacks. The Severns had to cover everything dear to them
and everything electronic with plastic lest it be ruined as
evidenced by some of these photos. A towel on the floor soaking up
the water in vain is an example of how soggy the carpets were. You
will also see the bathroom door after it was knocked off of it's
hinges and onto the Severns. Something wanted to scare them badly,
and it did.
