Over the past few months, Paranormal Ohio has been faced with its share of tough poltergeist cases and among the toughest of them was a case involving the Sergent family. Here was a family from the suburbs of Columbus, OH that was being driven from their home in the dead of winter and being forced to sleep in their van by a very malicious and out of control poltergeist.

This poltergeist and the associated spirits had evolved in intensity over a period of several months to the point where it was throwing kitchen knives in the direction of this family that includes four young children. We were witness to (among many other things) it picking up an antique hutch and watching it attempt to shove it over onto one of the teenage members of the family who was in a sleeping bag on the floor beneath. Thankfully, a large screen television set broke the hutches fall but not before its entire contents was dumped onto the floor.

This family was truly almost left homeless by the paranormal phenomenon that was taking place within their home. They were in a battle for their lives. It has been a great privilege to get to know them and to work with them these past few months and to watch them not only escape from the nightmare in which they were living, but to see them grow in their faith as a result of what has happened.

I very humbly thank Sandi Sergent, the wife and mother of this family, for the kind letter of recommendation she writes for the Paranormal Ohio team below. We, the Paranormal Ohio Research Team, in turn thank the Lord for being with us in the midst of these battles.

My name is Sandi.
My family and I are victims of demonic harassment.
We were living in constant fear. We always knew there was something in our house, but never thought it could be so horrible!
When this first started, it was mild, but it quickly got aggressive. It (the demon) would throw things, move furniture, turn the lights on and off, ring the
phone, hide things, break things, bang around upstairs, open and close doors, play music on the computer, and set the recorder on our television to record paranormal shows.
It actually threw our Christmas tree across the living room 3 separate times.
Our children would not even go in a separate room from us. We all camped out in one room, never daring to walk in another room alone.
It got so bad; we actually left our home several times in the middle of the night.
We felt so threatened and terrified; we would rather sleep in our van, than our home!!
We tried getting our Church involved but they didn't want to help.
We turned to Paranormal Ohio. From day one, Randy, Brian and the rest of the crew were more than willing to help us.
I talked to them and explained what was going on and they set up a date to come.
BUT...that date was 2 weeks away and in the meantime this demon was getting stronger and stronger; more aggressive every minute of the day.
It got so bad that things would just drop out of mid-air - markers, Christmas bulbs, and leggo blocks, just anything. It would throw knives too.
I called the Paranormal Ohio crew back and told them it had gotten 100 times worse. So they changed their schedules and came to our house right away.
From the second we met Randy, Brian and the team, we KNEW things would get better. They were so eager to help - So polite, caring, understanding and concerned.
The first night they were there, they stayed about 7 hours.  They took their time and made sure they were doing everything they could to get rid of the horrible things in my home. They set up all their cameras and recorders. They caught some amazingly scary things on their tapes too. Unbelievable things!!!!
The next day, things were calm for a few hours but then it started again. This time with a vengeance it seemed. It threw the Christmas tree and simply got nasty. The fear we were feeling was feeding this thing. And by this time we were petrified!!!!
So I called Randy right away and the very next day they came back to my home.
In all, they came to my home about 5 times. Randy and Brian also called me all the time to check on us between visits.
If anything happened and I needed them, all I had to do is call and they came right away.
Although they made superb progress, we ended up moving out of our house. (Personal reasons, not because of the demon)
When we got our new place, Randy and Brian came to it right away to bless it and make sure it was safe.
I pray that no one EVER has to go through what my family and I did.
It is a life changing experience.  I, personally, will never be the same. My faith in the Lord is stronger than I ever imagined it could be!
Paranormal Ohio bases everything they do on the Lord Jesus Christ. They believe in God with all their hearts.
And they taught me so much about living right and living by Gods word. Randy indeed SAVED my life and soul!!
Please, please, please, take my advice....If you are in need of help; put ALL of your trust in the Paranormal Ohio team!!
They are the best!!
They ask for nothing in return. They sincerely are here to help people in crisis.
My husband and I even offered them money and they would NOT take it. They made it very clear all they wanted is for us to be safe and free from harm’s way.
This all got really bad in November, here it is May, and Randy and Brian still call me and email me just to make sure we are safe and doing well. Actually, they have been to my new place once more. This demon is very persistent...But Randy and his team are more persistent!! Things have really calmed down since this all started. And until it is completely gone (if it isn't already, because you can never tell), Randy and the team will come back and keep "hitting" it until the day it never returns!!
I am so thankful for Paranormal Ohio.
Again, PLEASE contact them and put ALL of your trust in them if you are in need of help!!!!
You honestly couldn't ask for a more honest, helpful, sincere, and caring group of people!!!!

~~God Bless You All ~~

Just yesterday I received a very nice thank you note from a woman whose family we had assisted in Northern Ohio almost a year ago this summer. Their family has been in my thoughts so it was good to hear from her. This is what she has written:

Hey Guys (and Gals),

I was thinking about all my kids have been through over the past 4 years and couldn't help but wonder where we would be right now if it weren't for you all.  After you guys left we did have those "drive bys" that Randy mentioned  for a month or so and occasionally the girls still "feel like someone is in the room with them" but haven't felt the violence and terror at all since your last visit.  I am so grateful to the entire team for their help.  We felt so alone and helpless- I have NO DOUBT that God led me to your website when I prayed and begged him for help.  I was truly desperate.  I pray God blesses you in all that you do and please know that we are forever grateful to you.  If there is ever anything we can do to help you- please give us a call!  God Bless- In Christ's Love, Shelley

This note fairly well sums up our purpose. There can be hope for ones who are facing incredibly strange and terrifying spiritual situations. In the upcoming days I will be posting a narrative along with some of the evidence from the encounter with the water poltergeist that I faced in the editorial below this one. It was one of the strangest and definitely one of the most destructive cases that I have that I have faced to date.

Along with that, the website will be receiving a much needed facelift. So, if you notice a few of the old links missing for the moment, know that they are being revamped in an attempt to make the website a little more cohesive and relevant to what the Paranormal Ohio Research Team has been doing over this past year.

Sincerely,

"The longer I live, the more I read, the more patiently I think, and the more anxiously I inquire, the less I seem to know...Do justly. Love mercy. Walk humbly [with your God]. This is enough."

 John Adams

After reading this quote by the second President of the United States, it seemed to sum up many of my feelings as of late. The longer that I am involved with the paranormal, the less I seem to know. But as I find out that I may not have known as much as I led myself to believe in the past, I discover many fascinating things to learn and study.

I believe this should probably be true of anybody who is honest with their self and who has been deeply involved in the study of the paranormal over a number of years. Just when you think that you have one facet of the paranormal figured out, there will be something else coming down the pike to challenge your paradigm.

Our group has been challenged by a number of poltergeist cases recently. One of them has been the phenomenon of a “water poltergeist” that is causing it to “rain” for lack of a better term, inside of an elderly couple’s residence. It has also taken on some very violent propensities which have been disturbing. Beyond that, it is seemingly very intelligent, which to me lifts it a degree or two above the normal poltergeist type of activity that we have investigated.

I am not going to go into the entire case here, but suffice to say it did hospitalize one of the elderly couple that I mentioned above by scalding them with the “rain” that I also mentioned. It has proven itself to be dangerous.  This case, coupled with the others that we have had over this past six months has caused me to become very humble in spite of my experience.

For the most part, the Paranormal Ohio Research Team has been able to do some good in the face of some very difficult cases. But it has taken a lot of follow-up, some patience and compassion. Hopefully we will be able to share some of the cases that we have been involved with you soon. Everything takes time and right now there have been quite a few people in need.

Sincerely,

P.O.R.T.
